The Woodall family have been producing Hams, Bacon and Sausages for eight generations in Waberthwaite, Cumbria.
The family continues to operate from the famous shop, which doubles up with the Post Office, producing a fine range of Bacon and Traditional Cumberland Sausage.
We supply to Hotels, Guest Houses and Retail Outlets along the Cumbrian coast and within the Lake District and South Cumbria, deliveries serviced by our own transport.
We also offer a mail order service on a regional basis with
details available upon request.
A Story of Quality
FAMILY, TRADITION, PASSION & LOVE.
Nestling between the western edge of the Lakeland fells and the Irish Sea lies the sleepy backwater village of Waberthwaite. This is home to R B Woodall, one of the oldest family businesses still in existence. The company, currently run by 7th, 8th and 9th generation family members, is renowned for its much acclaimed traditionally cured hams, bacon and sausages.
In the late 18th and early 19th centuries Whitehaven in Cumberland was one of the busiest ports in England. Many new and exotic spices first found their way to our shores via the port, and some became established ingredients in local products such as the traditional Cumberland sausage.
The Woodall family still use our original centuries old recipe to produce a 95% meat product. Combining these Ingredients with best quality Shoulder pork doubtless contributed towards our being granted the PGI status for Traditional Cumberland Sausage

A Family Affair
Call us, call in, you'll be greeted by one of the family.
Joyce heads things up in the little shop, which stocks everything from sweets and newspapers, to milk and our fine meat products. We're also a post office and a place to meet and catch up on village news.
Natalie, our daughter-in-law heads up the admin, social and online side of things, while Steven, our son, overseas all sausage making.
Alistair, is known as 'the gaffer' - the all-seeing, all-knowing eye and mind of Woodall. There isn't a product that leaves our premises he hasn't cast his expert and perfecting eye over.
